Xinjiang Food 2

The lotus plant, beautiful and delicious.

Marinated beef, rolled in lotus leaves together with glutinous rice, then steamed.

Freshly picked lotus flowers, rolled in batter and egg, deep-fried, then eaten with sugar or honey.

Crab steamed in lotus leaf.

Strips of naan stir-fried with meat.

Kung Pao chicken.

Lamb roasted over hot stones.

Mongolians in Xinjiang eat noodles.

Pieces of lamb, boiled with tomatoes, potatoes, and green pepper.

Kazakhs also live in Xinjiang.

Baked naan made with leavened dough.
