The Cantonese can turn anything into food: rodents, snakes, insects.

Peanut worms.

Over a million kg of peanut worms are produced here every year.

hechong—“rice paddy worms”, or tylorrhynchus heterochaeta, a type of worm found in paddy fields.

Some people eat the raw worms.

Zhushu—Chinese bamboo rats.
